Not all Heroes are dead. Some are a living testimony!

Founded in 1995, The Bayaning Pilipino Awards of ABS-CBN is an annual search for modern-day heroes who continues to make a difference in spite of their limitations. It was envisioned by the late Don Eugenio Lopez, Jr. for which this award is now named. It aims to give recognition to ordinary filipinos who had done heroic acts and extraordinary deeds“existing heroes who have rendered service to the Filipino people.” The heroes that the network want to recognize are those who are living and those whom the ordinary people can emulate.

iLoveMyCountry Team was overwhelmed to have met Mr. Gary Mosquito, a teacher from Cabarasan Daku Elementary School in Palo Leyte, this year’s national winner for Bayaning Gurong Pilipino 2019 of the 15th Gawad Geny Lopez Jr. Bayaning Pilipino Awards sponsored by ABS-CBN and Ugat Foundation.

Mr. Mosquitos has been a teacher for 13 years. Mosquito’s innovation is called Project Life or “Lifelong Interventions through a Finest Environment,” a project enhancing the implementation of “Gulayan Sa Paaralan” into an organic vegetable production for malnutrition alleviation, love for mother nature, income generating project, livelihood for parents, school greening and beautification program.

iLoveMyCountry.Ph also recognizes Mr. Gary Mosquito by giving him our very own Extraordinary and Heroic Deed Award. An award given to Filipinos who have explicit love for the country and to his fellow Filipino by doing the extra mile for the benefit of the nation and making it a Fraud-Free Philippines.
